Hi! I'm Brian Lavelle and this the site of my 2002 travel log and photo journal. I hope you enjoy my site!

I'm home!  Safe and sound, as they say.  I'm actually home two weeks early as I decided I'd had enough of the beach and that Tahiti could be seen another time.  It was a wonderful experience that couldn't have gone smoother.  No lost luggage, no delayed flights, no unfriendly or hostile people, no major dramas.  Only the greatest experience of my life,  I feel like I've just stepped out of my own reality for a while to see what's on the other side.  I'd have to say that the grass is just as green and the ocean just as blue.  The people on the other side of the world are genuinely friendly.  Everywhere I went I felt not only welcome but safe, unthreatened, and accepted.
It's a little strange being home as I have to eat with a fork, live in air conditioned rooms and drive on the right side of the road but I think I'll manage.
